As many of you know, we are very fortunate to have a local burial service for equines, Omega Farms. This is an extremely rare service, and it also happens to be located in a beautiful location in the Coast Range near Noti, Oregon.
Horses can be taken to Omega Farms by appointment with your equine veterinarian for euthanasia — if you’re able to trailer your animal. For those that cannot due to the condition of the horse, there is a transport service that also serves our area.
Tail End Transport is operated by Wendy Jameson. Her service will pick up the deceased at your property or boarding facility, and deliver it to Omega Farms for burial.
This week we received an update from Wendy regarding her service that we wanted to share:
About 10 days ago, I had a medical emergency that has me recovering for the next 4-6 weeks.
Due to an amazing family and friend group, we have been able to keep transports to burial continuing. Those driving for me over the next month all work full-time jobs so will be covering on their days off and after work. I wanted to give you an idea of their optimal transport days and timeframes.
I will be managing the phone and organizing the transports from home.
Thursdays through Sundays we have the most availability from morning through evening.
Monday-Wednesday are our toughest days for coverage. We can pick up those days, but its very limited to first thing in the morning or after 4pm.
David and Marta also are continuing to have clients haul out with the veterinarians for euthanasias at Omega Farms.
I am so sorry for this inconvenience, but my hope is to get healthy so we can be back to full-service as soon as possible.
