Chris Camp, DVM
Dr. Chris Camp was born in Texas and raised in Oregon. He is a 1991 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University. He worked in the Corvallis/Albany area for several years before deciding to specialize in equine medicine and surgery. In 1994 Dr. Camp moved to Eugene and joined Del Oeste Equine Hospital and later became a full partner. Dr. Camp’s primary focus in veterinary practice is sports medicine, including lameness diagnosis and treatment, imaging, management of back pain, and dentistry. Dr. Camp’s professional goals are to provide progressive medical care to his patients and excellent communication with his clients. In his free time Dr. Camp enjoys spending time with his family and his horses. His hobbies include skiing, hiking, golf, and fly fishing.
Kathy Connell, DVM
Dr. Kathy Connell was raised in Northern Illinois. She graduated from the University of Illinois in Veterinary Medicine in 1993. Dr. Connell then completed a surgical internship at Petersen & Smith Equine Hospital in Ocala, Florida. In 1994 she joined Don Ryker, DVM and Associates in Ortonville, Michigan where she worked for 15 years. Kathy moved to Eugene and joined Del Oeste Equine Hospital in August 2008. Dr. Connell became a partner in the practice in 2018. Kathy likes the variety found in the ambulatory practice. In her free time, she enjoys woodworking, working on her home with her husband, drawing, wild truffle hunting with her Labrador Retrievers and agility training with her Icelandic Sheepdog, Loki.
Jacquelyn Beyerlein, DVM
Dr. Jacquelyn Beyerlein was raised in Eugene, Oregon and is a 2015 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University. After graduation, she completed a year-long internship focusing on equine surgery and sports medicine at Equine Services Hospital in Simpsonville, Kentucky. Upon completion of her internship she returned to Oregon and joined Del Oeste Equine Hospital in June 2016. Starting in 2018, Dr. Beyerlein is certified in animal chiropractic by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA). Dr. Beyerlein’s other professional interests include surgery, lameness, and rehabilitation. In her spare time, Dr. Beyerlein enjoys training her 4-year old paint filly, hiking with her Labrador retriever, and spending time with her family.
Amber Lengele, DVM
Dr. Amber Lengele was raised in Eugene, Oregon. She is a 2019 graduate of the Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University, where she also received her Honors Bachelor of Science. Dr. Lengele started an Internship at Del Oeste in 2019. She completed the internship and joined our team as an associate in July 2020. Growing up, Dr. Lengele was very involved in 4-H and OHSET, showing her horses in a variety of disciplines, in addition to other animal projects. Dr. Lengele is passionate about working with clients to improve the health of their animals and hopes to be active in the community through organizations such as 4-H. Dr. Lengele’s professional interests include equine reproduction, dentistry, and sports medicine. In her free time, Dr. Lengele enjoys hiking with her dog, competing her Thoroughbred in dressage and eventing, and photography.
Tom Daugherty, DVM
Dr. Tom Daugherty is a 1994 graduate of the Oregon State College of Veterinary Medicine. He was born in Oregon and raised in Montana. After receiving his degree he worked in Oregon and Washington as an equine veterinarian. Tom then spent seven years with Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, and three years in Las Vegas working in a strictly equine medical and surgical center before returning to Oregon. He’s also worked for several years as a solo practitioner. The years spent in Kentucky and Nevada gave Dr. Daugherty the opportunity to work on Breeder’s Cup, Kentucky Derby, and National Finals (NFR) horses. His areas of focus are reproduction, ophthalmology, and dentistry. He became an Associate here at Del Oeste in 2022.
When not working, Dr. Daugherty enjoys spending time with his wife Julie and their horses. His hobbies include skiing and golf.
Nigel, his Jack Russell Rat Terrier is continuing to travel to appointments to handle public relations.
